At the dawn of electronic communication, the founders of Pebuu saw an opportunity in the speed, interconnectedness, and resilience offered by new communication channels opening to Africa. At the turn of the century, when cashless payments were just taking root across the content, Pebuu’s visionaries transformed how ordinary people interact with the financial industry. In 2014, we birthed Pebuu Africa in Uganda, were we pioneered the use of cashless solutions for people at the bottom of the pyramid – offering electronic and digital payment solutions to cover retail and consumer services.

Andrew Nyombi
Non-Executive Board Member
Andrew Nyombi is a seasoned commercial and civil litigation attorney with expertise in employment law, taxation, and personal injury. Admitted to the U.S. Tax Court, he has successfully argued high-stakes federal litigation, setting precedents, including in employment background reporting (Maiteki v. Marten Transportation Ltd). With experience at the U.S. Department of Justice and Uganda’s Supreme Court, he blends global legal perspectives. A Georgetown Law graduate, he is a member of multiple U.S. district courts and the U.S. Supreme Court bar. Beyond law, he enjoys travel and nature appreciation, reflecting a well-rounded worldview.
